The hosts were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate me. One highlight was when the host drove me up a steep and gravel road so I could explore the beautiful surroundings. The traditional Costa Rican breakfast was delicious and the property was clean and comfortable. I even spotted rare toucans! I highly recommend this hidden gem for an authentic and unforgettable experience.

As a light sleeper, I loved the quietness and serenity of Pochote Lodge. the remote location on top of a mountain provided a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. the lodge had comfortable rooms for my family of five and we felt like part of their family. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen for barbecuing and the beautiful garden surrounding the property. the hosts, Francisco, Veronica, and their son, were extremely friendly and their son bonded well with our son of the same age. the meals provided were amazing with fresh ingredients and well-cooked food.
Felt like at home, no complaints at all.

The value for money at Pochote Lodge was excellent, and the room was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was peaceful and secluded, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The staff, especially Francisco and his family, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing outstanding hospitality throughout our stay.
The food for breakfast could be improved with more variety or options.

I recently stayed at Pochote Lodge for a few nights during my vacation in Guanacaste. Francisco, the host, was incredibly friendly and always available for a chat in Spanish. The breakfast was delicious, offering traditional Costa Rican cuisine. The property itself was beautiful, surrounded by nature and providing a peaceful environment. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and there was even a small kitchen available for use. Francisco went above and beyond by assisting with our car situation, offering to park our rental car at a nearby hotel and driving us to and from the lodge. We even spotted keel billed toucans in the morning!
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

I also appreciated that Francisco offered to park our rental car at a nearby gated hotel and provided transportation when our car couldn't make it up the steep, gravel road. Cons: No issues.
